Celebrating Education 2003

Stroud Pyramid present Celebrating Education 2003, a display of work from many of the primary and secondary schools in the area.

Celebrating Education is open to the public from June 10th to June 20th in St Lawrence's Church, Stroud.

Bisley Blue Coat School's display has been created by Class 1 and is all about Barnaby Bear.
Who is Barnaby Bear?

Barnaby Bear is a teddy bear who is used with KS1 children to enable them to learn about other countries and places.

Barnaby travels with different people connected with the school, as well as on school visits, creating a sense of personal involvement for the children.
When Barnaby travels he keeps a diary which the children help to complete. The children may also draw pictures in the diary of their adventures with Barnaby. Barnaby also sends postcards back to the school for all his class mates to see where he has been.

Barnaby is a much loved and valued member of Class 1!!!

A lot of effort has gone into creating the display. The centre piece is a giant collage picture of Barnaby Bear made with fur.

The Reception children have made passports complete with self portraits. Year 1 have made postcards depicting Barnaby's travels. The children have also made suitcases snd packed them with all the things they would take on holiday.

And of course Barnaby is there with his diary!
Barnaby has recently returned from Norway where he travelled with Mrs Jenns and Mrs Batten to visit our partner school the Hauge School.

Barnaby has travelled extensively within the UK, as well as many countries in Europe and further afield.
